Brother printer model MFC-8440 i lost installation CD I went to the site The one i dnloaded doesnt have setup?

i downloaded it from http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC... BUT when i opened it, it didnt have setup for the installation of the printer. please help (:

Don't need it.


Brother downloads are usually a self extracting ZIP





Run it, tell it where to extract to





START / SEttings / Printers and faxes





ADD printer, set to local port on LPT1 to start with


When it gives a list of printers, select have disk


point it at the decompressed files


Let it install





NOW polug in the printer and let it install a 2nd version witth the correct port (USB) and away you go. Test the NEW version and then delete the old one

Reply:Go back to the website and ask Customer service to mail you a CD for installing the soft ware or the correct down load.
