Is fighting for the right of adults to have sex with 14 and 15 year olds a good way to shatter the myth that you prey on youth?





The Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario opposes a bill that would make it illegal for adults to have sex with 14 and 15 year olds (who would still be free to have sex with peers less than 5 years older), complaining that "purported child-protection legislation such as the Criminal Code amendments contained in Bill C-22 can be used to attack gays, bisexuals, and lesbians by reinforcing the myth that we prey on children and youth."





CLGRO contends that not allowing adults to have sex with 14 and 15 year olds "infringe[s] the human rights of both parties."

Boy, they are quite savy and shrewd!





Statistics show that somewhere between 1% and 4% of the general population of a given area in North America are publically avowed gays and lesbians. And, the research stats also indicate that up to 40% of pedophiles and ephebophiles (with teens) claim to have predominantly same sex attractions, no matter whether just with children, with adolescents, or with adults, or in some combination of the three. However, it does appear that the largest percentage of this group are actually male ephebophiles; in other words, those gay men who are primarily attracted to the post-pubescent male adolescent (ages 12 through 15).





This CLGRO group knows full well that if this bill passes in Ontario, that it is very likely that there is a greater frequency of this group, within the G %26amp; L populaton, getting charged and convicted for this type of sex crime, leading eventually to what would be justified stigmatization of a large portion of this population group, if not in total being blamed for such sex crimes.





So, their paranoia about losing their civil rights, which is hardly a consideration given the American and Canadian cultural trend towards enforcement and protection of individual rights over community and religious concerns, is clearly revealed here, at the expense of sanctioning moral and just enforcement of a law to protect the rights of innocent and still psychosexually developing adolescents! By the way, this is the same kind of egocentric, uncivil and reprehensible stand regarding the welfare and protection of others in the community concerning their insistence on confidentiality laws being enforced to protect sexually active HIV/AIDS patients, equal employee benefits for gay couples, which will eventually bankrupt many corporatuions who will be forced to comply, and the gay marriage issue which will further make marital institution less relevant and meaningless, as well as cause so much more impairment and psychological damage to the next generation of youth.

Reply:I don't totally understand this... I myself haven't had sex with a 14 or 15 yr old since I was that age myself, I wasn't attracted to older people..they just seemed ...well old.





I guess if 14 %26amp; 15yr olds would be deemed capable of consenting to sexual relationships with people up to five years older than them under this law then it seems to be nonsensical to say that they were at the same time incapable of consenting to a relationship with someone six or seven years older than them.





A person is either old enough to give consent or he/she is not.

I'm so mad at myself. After I left a Christian cult, I lost faith in the Bible, but I still kept my ideas about personal charity. Then, I started opening up to my boyfriend about how I was finding it difficult to get over the legacy of the cult. I didn't put the dots together. I already knew that it was the lesbians who were the big problem for me. They took over my life. Then the only support group I could find of people who had left that religion were gays. I went to a couple of their meetings because I was trying to meet some people. I thought I was too boring for my boyfriend. He has a job. It was my undoing. I was put on the spot and I wasn't prepared for it. I was trying to be charitable, thinking that I was the one who had gotten it wrong and misread my former "friends." In any event, I think they have psychoses and contradict themselves every few sentences.

and that is why the bill is being apposed not to allow gay people to be pedophiles if you actually read the article you would have understood that... when it comes to politics its always the fine print that people use to generalise. and furthermore I feel that the gay community would encourage the passing of a law that was properly written to keep children safe
