Is it true that Jesus really never existed?

Of course, I have also heard the Christian responses, like:

"No legitimate historian would ever say that.."

or

"There's more evidence for a Historical Jesus than there is for Ronald Reagan, etc..."

or

"Josephus, Tacitus, Pliny, Roman Record, etc, etc, shows Jesus existed... "

or "You should read, Lee Strobel, The Bible, J. MacDowell, C.S. Lewis, etc..."

but after checking all these claims - ALL of them, they simply are not true and actually are distortions of the truth.

In reality, if one learns to research objectively, it seems pretty clear that Jesus Christ actually did not even exist, but was made up!

A simple GOOGLE search: "Jesus never existed" or add, "infidels, skeptic, or atheist " behind it reveals the truth.

Most scholars now agree that the entire Gospel was made up from Astrology and templates from ancient Pagan/Egyptian deities.

The evidence supporting this is simply overwhelming.

Since Jesus did not exist, how will Christianity change?

Is it true that Jesus really never existed?
"Most scholars now agree that the entire Gospel was made up ..." is simply not true!

Surely you can tell the difference between lets say a news account and a story. lol Jesus is referred to in pagan, Jewish, and Christian writings outside the New Testament. The Jewish historian Josephus is especially interesting. In the pages of his works you can read about New Testament people like the high priests Annas and Caiaphas, the Roman governor Pontius Pilate, King Herod, John the Baptist, even Jesus himself and his brother James. There have also been interesting archaeological discoveries as well bearing on the gospels. For example, in 1961 the first archaeological evidence concerning Pilate was unearthed in the town of Caesarea; it was an inscription of a dedication bearing Pilate’s name and title. Even more recently, in 1990 the actual tomb of Caiaphas, the high priest who presided over Jesus’s trial, was discovered south of Jerusalem.

Of course the New Testament documents are the most important historical sources for Jesus of Nazareth. No modern scholar thinks of the gospels as bald-faced lies, the result of a massive conspiracy. The interval of time between the events themselves and recording of them in the gospels is too short to have allowed the memory of what had or had not actually happened to be erased.
Reply:Of course he existed.

He's not only mentioned in the bible, but in several history books as well.

People who don't believe Jesus Christ existed are just going to end up being those people who are laughed at throughout history like the people who don't believe the holocaust ever happened or the people who don't believe the Americans really landed on the moon.

EDIT: You really believe EVERYTHING you find on Google? The internet has proven time and time again to be a false source of information.
Reply:He may have existed

However you are 100% correct that there is NOT ONE (I repeat NOT ONE) first hand account of Jesus ANYWHERE

Even the bible (new testament) was written at the earliest, 30 years after his death.

Personally I do not think he existed, perhaps he is a composite of many characters.

NOTE: Josephus the historian, that so many claim reference Jesus, wrote this "history" 100 years after his christs death. Josephus never met him and his sources were third or fourth hand (at best).
Reply:What? The evidence of the Crucifixion is there, Jesus of Nazareth was born app. 2008 years ago when the planet Venus(I believe was visible and brightest). Where exactly are you getting your sources from? In my 17 years of existance, never have I encountered a person that based their opinions from a simple GOOGLe search.
Reply:i am a young girl.... and to hear you ask that hurts me!!! because jesus was very real... i may know why you ask that because this generation is so messed up we don't know what to believe anymore but please don't give up faith he is with you!!!!
Reply:Christianity is based on faith mostly. If you don't think he existed, fine.

I know he existed and is my savior so have fun in helll while i'm chillin in heaven
Reply:There are Roman writings from the period and region that acknowledge Jesus' existence that many of you completely ignore....show me where they were disproven.

Covering your eyes %26amp; ears won't change this.
Reply:Not sure, but it appears as if the complete lack of corroborating historical evidence is a nail in the literal Jesus coffin.
Reply:Jesus did exist , and still exists today, and will exist forever!
Reply:Jesus did exist. The Roman Jewish historian Josephus took a record of him which is a legitimate source.
Reply:I'm an atheist (interest declared) and from my reading I understand that Jesus of Nazareth did exist.
Reply:Facts, evidence and logic hasn't changed it up till now, what makes you think it will from this point forward?
Reply:No. He walked the walk. Died on the cross, rose again. He conquered the death. He is well and alive
Reply:Jesus does exist
Reply:wow you guys just want to demolish christianity dont you?
Reply:Uh, evidence?

Someone who's bent on believing is indifferent to evidence.

Heck, look at all of the evolution deniers!

Perhaps I'll do the search you suggest, as the question interests me.

I certainly don't buy all the stories (peopletravelling to see him in the manger, Mary's virginity -- all the "magic" stuff), but it was my impression that there was likely a preacher named Jesus (or some other version of that name).

"More evidence than for Ronald Reagan"?????

I've never heard that! Heck, I remember the guy.

I didn't realize we had gabillions of hours of film of press conferences of Jesus (or cheesy, lame movies he played in).
