Some Bio Questions. Help?

1. Number the following steops of DNA replication so they are in the correct order.

A. Each strand of DNA serves as a template, and matching nucleotides are added to each.

B. The 2 strands of DNA unzip down the middle between their nucleotides.

C. 2 new double strands of DNA are formed.

2. Why must DNA be replicated in a cell?

3. How are RNA and DNA simular?

AND

4. List 3 ways that RNA and DNA are different from one another.

Thanks so much. (: First person to post all the answers will get a 'BEST ANSWER 5 STARS' thanks! :D

Some Bio Questions. Help?
1.

B,C,A

b must happen before new nucleotides can be attached to the DNA

2.

DNA must be replicated for both mitosis and meiosis (cell division) so that both daughter cells have the DNA of the organism and can function properly.

3.

RNA and DNA both use nucleotides that pair specifically to one other one, and both are read by proteins.

4.

RNA leaves the nucleus

RNA is edited

RNA is used in the production of proteins while DNA is used as a template for making RNA
Reply:BAC

DNA replicated so that the genetic information can be passed on.

RNA and DNA similar as have a phosphate, group, base, pentose sugar attached

RNA = ribose sugar, DNA = deoxyribose sugar

RNA uses uracil while DNA thymine

DNA more stable than RNA

2) DNA has to be replicated in a cell in order for it to divide and become 2 cells because each cell will need its own copy of the DNA to survive and make all the things that it needs.

3) RNA and DNA are structurally similar because they both have a sugar backbone and nucleotides that are attached to it. RNA can form double stranded structures, but are typically single stranded in mRNA form. DNA serves as the template from which RNA is transcribed. RNA is the templare from which protein is translated.

4) Difference 1: RNA is single stranded as mRNA and can also form hairpin tRNA and ribosomal rRNA. DNA is just DNA and its almost always double stranded. 2: RNA does not have the T nucleotides like DNA, but instead have U nucleotides. 3: RNA is used to make protein, DNA is used to make RNA
Reply:BAC

DNA is replicated in the cell to pass on its genetic information to its daughter cells. That is the new cell created when the old one divides in two. N ew cells can not function without a copy of its parents DNA as DNA contains all the instructions of how the cell works.

DNA hast the same structure as RNA in everything except it has one less oxygen atom hence its name.

Also RNA cannot form a double helix due to the extra oxygen atom.

DNA is usually double stranded whereas RNA is usually single stranded.

The are more types of RNA in a cell than DNA. eg mRNA tRNA rRNA iRNA.

DNA is made up of four bases ATCG whereas RNA is made up of AUCG.
